First concert of BONIFANTES Boys Choir
The new BONIFANTES Boys’ Choir hit Pardubice like a bolt from the blue. Within the space of one year, a choir numbering some 200 boys had been successfully put together. Talent tests were undertaken in all the primary schools in Pardubice in September and October 1999 in order to select the boys for the choir and the first working meetings took place in October and November of the same year. These meetings were attended by 256 boys from primary 1 to primary 5, all selected from more than 6500 children in Pardubice. The new boys’ choir was then presented in Pardubice in its premiere concert in February 2000.
The choirmasters succeeded in capturing the whole of Pardubice in terms of boys choir singing. Up to 30 new singers join the BONIFANTES Boys’ Choir every year.
